Fender has officially released two new vintage-style tube guitar amps. The ’68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb is the smallest of the family. Fender’s Custom line aims to revive Fender’s most coveted tones.

This renewed version is not a reissue, it has a new speaker, new reverb and modified circuitry. Thus, it adapts to the modern guitarist looking for the classic sounds that are heard on so many records.

Fender ’68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb

The new ’68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb amp is the new take on one of the younger brothers of the vintage Silverface series. This little amp classic also features five watts, perfect for home use or in recording studios.

This revamped version of the Vibro Champ Reverb maintains the key functionalities of the original 1968 amp; as well as a new series of features and tonal modifications that seek to offer a classic Fender sound to the modern guitarist.

Equipped with a 10″ Celestion Ten 30 speaker for increased bass response and more versatility. Additionally, the Vibro Champ features modified circuitry, custom-made Schumacher transformers inspired by the originals, and an additional Hall reverb and tremolo.

Also, it has a new brightness switch control for when you play at low volumes. In addition, it comes with the classic volume, treble, bass, reverb, speed and intensity controls.

Finally, a 1968-style silver panel aluminum trim features a silver-turquoise grille for that classic Fender vibe. Excellent 5 watt amplifier ideal for rehearsals, home recordings and even small concerts.
